“Gripping presentation of the early years of Theranos deceptions — but really incomplete on acknowledging its sourcing. There’s way, way too little credit given to Carreyrou, his WSJ reporting and his book, Bad Blood. Yes, he’s interviewed. But the sources and the emphases of this narrative in this first chapter completely parallel the narrative in the early part of his book. It’s a great listen, but your producers and correspondent are cheesy in failing to acknowledge the work that it’s built on. I hope the later chapters are more honest about the centrality of Carreyrou’s reporting, all of it done amid serious legal threats and personal intimidation of him and his sources. If the rest of the piece gives him as little credit as this first section, it feels like a classic rip-off.”
