What’s Overlooked
This piece completely overlooks the extensive literature on risk and danger and why we tend not to see those risks that are very unlikely but represent a huge cost when they happen. Might better have cited the Churchill comment that America does the right thing after it has tried everything else. Se especially the work of anthropologist Mary Douglas On risk and danger. Malcom Gladwell wrote a good piece about this in the New Yorker not long after 9.11 and why people and countries tend to miss such things.

Just heard the first episode and love it! The negative reviews are from those who refuse to see our country as having faults. The first episode definitely wants me wanting more and will be doing individual research on these loopholes!
