I came for the contest and stayed for the witty banter of Failing Writers
I entered the flash fiction challenge on the recommendation of a friend and was duped into listening to the episode (at 1.25 speed) to get the prompt and phrase. In truth, I had to listen to it twice because I became so engaged with the podcast that I forgot to note the phrase. Since then, I’ve listened to every episode (not in order, of course…why would I do that?) and have thoroughly enjoyed the banter, the interviews, the three-chapter submissions as dramatizations, throwing out ideas and excuses about not writing. I now write with semi-regular(ish) fervor accompanied by a glass of amethyst-infused wine and can confirm to Jon, Tom, and Dave, that a leg cramp is called a Charley Horse in the United States. I will never be a gud writer like you three is as I feel that I’m too senile by far and not top at using big words. Your podcasts have been grate to have a real titter at most points in them. I’m looking for wood to more of them. It brightens up this bloody prison they call an home for gents.
