A very excellent podcast on the lead-up to the Iraq war
This is a top-flight exposé of the missteps and machinations leading up to the launching of the second invasion of Iraq, to a war which rumbles on 17 years later today. Dimbleby is a marvelous interviewer and the materiel exposed weaves carefully through the episodes. He is skilled at leading his audience to engage their own faculties, to think through what they have just heard. He has a fine voice and presence… an American listener of a certain age will think of Walter Cronkite. As a BBC presenter, Fault Line has an understandable emphasis on the British part in the events described, particularly in respect to the actions of Tony Blair whom he interviewed for this podcast. I hope to come across an American podcast on the same subject which meets the same high standard of Dimbleby’s.

This is important journalism. David Dimbleby’s voice is one that everyone should hear. So why have ridiculous distracting music playing over the sound of his voice? The music does nothing to add to the atmosphere of the otherwise excellent podcast - it just makes it more difficult to listen to.
