Lies, damned lies, and Blair’s legacy
A fine piece of investigative journalism, albeit with the benefit of hindsight and sifted facts from fiction. Getting Blair to be interviewed was a master stroke. But his blaming the security services, for effectively having been strong-armed into supporting the Govt’s WMD stance, is either naive or moral cowardice. Strange how otherwise excellent political leaders always end up leaving their posts under a cloud. In Blair’s case, a massive one that continues to have long term ramifications today. The USA’s policy of destroying the infrastructure of Iraq has led to huge destabilisation in the region, and the U.K. was a party to that. David Dimbleby is on top form.
