The best cinema podcast in the universe? Probably not. But best fun to listen.

People don't realize how hard is to find a film podcast that has passionate discussions with very different opinions on a regular base.

After listen to the mother! Episode, in which the hosts bickered; and one of the hosts got upset that he had to talk about the movie; that is the mark of a good critic, one who can articulate himself; they had to get another host on for the second half episode, I knew I was done. The chemistry is...Read full review »

I have been listening to this wonderful (and sometimes wild) podcast for over a year now. Brian has been asking almost every episode for people to leave reviews and I always tell myself, "I'll do it later." WELL HERE YA GO BRIAN! I HOPE YOU ARE HAPPY. I REALLY ENJO THE PODCAST AND I'M SORRY IT...Read full review »

As someone that studied theory, I LOVE it when critics talk as much about a film as they do about their job critiquing it, the obstacles, the intrigues, and the joys of it.

Long time listener. One of my absolute favourite podcasts on film. Have been compelled to write a review so to say, can we please get more Lightning Round episodes!? Your last episode ranks in my all time top 10 podcast episodes (air horn sound to signal the end of this comment).

Tired of listening to frequent cliched swearings otherwise interesting discussions. Podcast would have been more winsome if not filled with cussings.

This show is consistently entertaining and always funny. Differing opinions are welcome and often encouraged with plenty of time given to each person to argue their case. Only occasionally does the excellent host Brian J Roan resort to threatening physical bodily harm to those that disagree with...Read full review »

I love this podcast despite the fact that the host (Brian) sometimes makes me want to smash things against the wall and write strongly worded emails (although provoking a reaction like that is better than no reaction at all, isn't it?). Great, in-depth film reviews, insightful comments and...Read full review »

Really enjoyable film podcast. The hosts are thoughtful, have strong opinions, and aren't afraid to argue their points.

Pretty good. Could use a larger cast or more guest hosts though.

One of the only film podcasts with true film criticism thats also accessable. Anytime the hosts lover or hate a particular film the reviews always come accross even handed.

I only listen to a few podcasts, but TFSS is easily towards the top of my list. The banter is fun & the film criticism is insightful. While discussions over "heady" films are mentally stimulating, the Batman v. Superman episode will always be my favorite, due to the hyperbolic rhetoric on both...Read full review »

I’m a new Film Stage listener and I’m really enjoying the podcast thus far. I love discussing film but can rarely find people enthusiastic about the art of filmmaking to have an honest dialogue with, so listening to you guys is great. It’s really entertaining, albeit exasperating, to hear the...Read full review »

Undeniably superb discussions about films. Whether I agree with their assessment or not, I'm eagerly invested in the conversations. Highly recommend all cinephiles to subscribe & listen. A+

love the people at the film stage, the site is great and the podcast is a lot of fun. the perfect mix of analysis, laughs and abuse hurled between coworkers (what more could you want?) I urge everyone to listen to the queen of earth podcast and you will understand.

This is easly one of my favorite film-related podcasts. I do, however, miss the brief line-up of Brian, Amanda, and Nick. It was the perfect balance of populist and artistic sensibilities. That being said, all of the contributers know their stuff and keep it lively, especially when it turns...Read full review »

Brian Brian Brian you got to get rid of these weird annoying co hosts like Nick & Amanda who hates everything yet thinks her opinion is so above everyone elses. Most people want to enjoy podcasts without the nagging voices they may get elsewhere. They go or you will lose so much audience. No...Read full review »

I've been listening to this podcast since January and I've found it to be funny, smart, thoughtful, and generally grounded in thorough analysis. When half the speakers admit they haven’t seen the past work of the director in question, it’s usually a bad sign.

It's hard to find movie talk podcasts that don't feel the need to include box-office reporting and near-constant Oscar coverage. They just really love movies and it shows. You have a new subscriber.

Doge meme aside, what a wonderful podcast! I’m not much of a movie watcher, but I do enjoy listening to this... Mostly because the host (Brian? I've been listening on and off for probably over a year now and that's what I've concluded. I know this is about 2 months late, but i just listened to Episode 69 on Snowpiercer. I was recently in Korea and had the chance to see Snowpiercer in the theater. Two months ago I would have given the podcast five stars, but as of late it has become quite smug. Great show with intellectual approaches to current movies, giving each film a very three-dimensional approach.
