Smart guys, but there's more cynicism than intelligence.
I've been listening on and off for probably over a year now and that's what I've concluded. I welcome listening to different tastes, but there is one guy with a monotone voice (I don't recall his name) that's smart, but cynical. I find it bothersome becase I end up not learning anything, which is the whole point of film criticism. For example, Jay Cheel of Film Junk is more apt at critiquing a movie he may hate, but I like. He would give specific examples based on film theory, point out directors' intentions and discuss different themes from his point of view. By then, I end up respecting his views while sometimes still disagreeing with him on liking the movie. I don't always get that sense after listening to this podcast. I sometimes just end up thinking these guys sound like college educated cynics in their 20s.

One of the few podcasts I actually LOOK FORWARD to listening to. Very smart reviews on film and the banter, of course, is funny. Keep up the good work, guys!
