REAL
We have all heard stories of the entrepreneurs who up and quit their job on a whim to pursue their passion. Alexandra Fasulo (host of this podcast) was one of them. They go off to write books about their experiences; make podcasts and guest appearances. They are all the same. The Freelance Fairytales podcast is a raw dip into that experience, before the entrepreneur’s life has become saturated in the lifestyle of the ultra-networked. Alex takes her listeners on semi-chaotic tangents about her experiences in the first decade of her success—as she is closing out that decade. She is unapologetically successful in her career and steeped in her own spiritual enlightenment, but also transparently rooted in the American middle-classness of her upbringing, putting her in a position to speak to a broad listener base that is unhappy in their current socioeconomic position or feeling otherwise disconnected in a world where our entire utility as human beings has been timed and tethered to a corporate clock. And she does well with it. While a veteran of the freelancing space at this point, Alex is still relatively new to podcasting, and it shows—in a way that does not affect transmission or reception. She is a pedestrian—One Of Us who is also just figuring this thing out as she goes. She is genuine, and it makes for easy, relatable listening worth checking out for anyone who has ever gotten that *this does not feel right* feeling at any point on the 9-5.

If this podcast doesn’t convince you to freelance, it’ll at very least convince you to follow your passion. The host is so obviously passionate about what she does and lays everything she knows out on the table without any fancy jargon, which is refreshing for a beginner in the freelance world...Read full review »
