I don't have a lot of cohorts in my life to speak nerdly culture with, and for the few that I do, time is limited. When my need to wax philosophic on Star Wars, or to pine for the next installment of The Song of Ice and Fire has reached dire limits, Functional Nerds is there. The...Read full review »

Composed of interviews and conversations between nerdy folk this is a really fun podcast. I particularly like the episodes that are just Patrick and John. Audio quality is very good.

John & Patrick are an interesting duo who have their banter down. With their weekly guest hosts there's they cover a range of nerdy topics that keeps the podcasts interesting and rolling along without becoming bogged down in your the pedantic nature of so much geekery. Patrick also likes to make...Read full review »

I live in Wisconsin, a place not know for nerdy, geeky stuff...more like football and beer. I love this show. Hello fellow Mid-West nerds, time to come out of the closet and share this show!

Great podcast with superb production values and sound quality. The hosts Patrick Hester and John Anealio are both witty and entertaining. They seem to bring out the best in their guests. They are both active in social media and like to hear feedback! They leave a lot of podcasts in the dust...Read full review »

Here's a smart, funny, accessible podcast that tilts toward the SFF side of life and art. Cool. Unlike many, many podcasts I've heard, this one actually sounds good. No fuzzy or strident voices among the regulars or skype skips and outages, no voice harmonics that make me yank out my earbuds...Read full review »

In the last few years, I've searched for, and tried-out, dozens of podcasts and listened to hundreds of hours of programming. My main areas of interest are comics and cartooning, writing and art, genre fiction in books, movies. TV, etc. There is no shortage of podcasts in these areas. So, it...Read full review »

I really like the show, good topics, good hosts, good production. I really enjoyed the interview with Jason Sanford, and I'm looking forward to going through the show archive. Keep up the good work guys!

There are podcasts which basically are 3 or 4 people rambling for an hour. There are podcasts so bad that authors complain on twitter afterwards about the experience. There are podcasts with lousy production values, where to hear one of the members means that you have to blast and blare the...Read full review »

If you're into computers, videogames, fantasy novels or anything in between, Patrick and John probably cover it. Add to that the growing list of guests in their 3rd Nerd Army and you've got a podcast that's easily slipped into my weekly rotation. Highly recommended!

This could be interesting, but is ruined by the one called John saying 'you know' repeatedly, constantly, unbearably often. It's not just an oral tic, it's worse than that: he says it more than he says anything else. And no, I don't know - and neither do I care any more. I had to delete this. You...Read full review »
