“To make a profit by encouraging a grieving family’s delusional conspiracy theories about the tragic suicide of their daughter is despicable.
The only concrete evidence that the family has against suicide is that the rope was “too high” for her to reach (after telling how she loved climbing to the top of trees since she was young), that she had moments of cheerfulness throughout the day, and that “suicide is not an option” in that family. Anyone with any knowledge of suicidal ideation or mental health treatment would tell you that suicide can happen with someone who appears happy, and that outright rejection of suicidal ideation and shutting down such discussions with phrases like “it’s not an option” are more damaging than discussing the thoughts and arranging prevention strategies. It’s essentially the abstinence-only approach to self-harm thoughts.
I hope this family can find peace rather than suffering in denial. Their daughter was a victim of horrible abuse by the community, but her life was ended by her own hands.”
