Excellent formula
As one of the only roleplaying podcasts I listen to regularly, the Gauntlet succeeds because of a couple of great choices made in their presentation. First, they only talk about games they actually have played, often soon after they have played them. Second, though they talk about how their session taught them about the game, the podcast’s editor is relentless about editing out “and then my guy did this” sort of stories, which gives you a great feel for the game, without burdening the listener with second-hand ephemeral experiences he or she will never have when they play it in a different session. Third, their cast rotates a bit, so the perspective is not always the same. They also clearly love playing games, play them with an open mind, and manage to keep the length of any given topic down to just long enough.

Stick around for a balance of banter, analysis, and reviews...Read full review »

The Gauntlet delivers informative, diverse and fun discussions on a ton of new, mostly narrative, RPGs. And it is the "flagship" of the super active and welcoming Gauntlet Community. If you are somewhat interested in Indie and Story Games you should definitely check out their site.
