Roger Martin is an incredibly deep, beautiful, powerful human being I received the distinct pleasure of meeting this year. During our time on the Friendship Bench together, I began to view him very much as a teacher. In our conversation, we discovered we shared similar moments of awakening when we realized that life as we imagined was actually a creation our minds, an illusion, and completely changeable. Roger shares some of his early story, and the moments that got him asking the question...

Motherhood is such a sacred, special, and often overlooked role that women play in our society. It comes a lot of heaviness. The questions – “Will I do this right?” “Will I f**k up my kid?”  And then the guilt, guilt for everything you did, didn’t do, might have done, could have been… It is courageous to be a mother.  I said that at the end of today’s episode of View from the Roof with my dear friend and masterful coach, Alysia Lyons. She is doing some of the most noble work I know,...

It’s been a while since it’s been just me and the microphone. Today’s episode is inspired by the idea that “everybody’s right.” Maybe it's a generational thing I notice from others— people wanting to know "the answer." Making everything "a debate." What's the "correct" answer? What is the "right way" to be?What if everybody's right? In fact, they are.And the experience you're having is simply your experience. To know that, to trust it, is part of "the way" to living a life more...

Mac Bogert is my soul brother, I’m certain. Since we first connected early this year, I’ve enjoyed all of the time we’ve spent together. We can weave in and out of conversation so effortlessly in the collective pursuit of exploration of humanity. Today’s episode of View From the Roof is one of those marvelously circuitous conversations of discovery. We talk about love, embracing, giving, and receiving… There are notes of recovery in there, as Mac and I both are sober and on that...

In July 2022, Dennis Pitocco appeared in my LinkedIn DMs. We had been connected already because of a compilation book I participated in that year (The Four-Fold Formula for All Things Wellness) but the message seemed random to me. He had read my writing and wanted to offer me an opportunity to write for his publication… one that seemed perfect and aligned. “No costs. No surprises. No catches. No kidding. Just an amazing group of talented professionals who've joined us over the years to...

My guest on this week’s episode is Anthony Hall (otherwise known as Grandpa STORK.) He is the founder of a space tourism industry startup, The Rose of Education Organization, TREO Inc. (https://www.treo-inc.com/) which is developing operations in education, entertainment, and exploration. They intend to be the leader and the answer to the question: “What kind of games and sports will humanity play in space?” Their goal is to empower and inspire the youth of the world, especially in...

I haven’t gained holiday weight in five years. Five years. (I know it’s not the holidays, but you’ll see where I’m going in a minute.) There is a secret to this, and every year, I tell this secret in my emails and on my podcast, usually with someone certified in everything fitness and nutrition. I produce a free holiday ebook as well, every year. And yet, I am ignored every year. Why is it so? Because the secret is: do nothing. Let yourself spin out. You WILL return to...

I changed the name of my podcast this year to View From the Roof because I wanted to go deeper with my conversations. I believe that’s a vast understatement of what I explore in this episode with my guest Zen Benefiel. When I met Zen at the beginning of this year, I had an experience of nothing other than pure love. He was leading a discussion and it seemed with every syllable he spoke, the room allowed for just a little bit more vulnerability and flow than they did before. The space between...

Today’s podcast surrounds the idea of over-thinking, and talks about the concept of the winner’s mind. What is the “winner’s mind?” A mind that knows how to lose. After a few years of working with chronic overthinkers, I have curated a two-week email series focused on ending the plague of overthinking. This podcast is based on one of the days, which I wrote about recently in a LinkedIn post. This episode goes into the winner’s mind more deeply. If you’re looking to overthink less in...

This week’s episode is about the inner reality of our experience- actually, specifically, that the experience is being had by the experiencer and only the experiencer. It was inspired by this Instagram video on @mantalks where a gentleman was talking about it being time to “let go of porn,” as within years, all of the online porn/chat sites will be led by AI, and not a human. My question is- “What does it matter?” Through my analysis, I show how not only does it not matter, but more...

Welcome back to — View From the Roof, formerly The Get the F*ck Off Podcast. I’m doing what we know in the restaurant industry as a “soft open,” which is usually soft for everyone but the employees. It’s my first episode back in a while on this beautiful Media Monday, and it is here to let you know it’s still me! I’m STILL Andee Scarantino and I’m still going to be talking about things to help you get the f**k off that shit that doesn’t serve you anymore. And, we’re also going to be going...

When you listen to the episode, you’ll get the joke… This episode will be my last for a while, as we’re “closing for renovations.” To my loyal listeners, I explain everything that’s coming. I’m going on a short hiatus to rebrand a little. I love what we have built together, but currently: I'm am more interested in deeper work. I'm am repelling people with my profanity, people who I would get to know. I’m getting flagged as a porn site. People don’t get the very intelligent joke. Humans...

I once wrote a blog entitled Willpower is a Dirty Word. It was all about how the word “willpower” sets people up to fail. I still believe this is true, mainly because “willpower” is used incorrectly. You do need the power of will to make transformation, but that will is not the power to “go without something.” Rather, that power of will is radical, unwavering self love. I talk all about this in this episode, along with how this has shown up in my life. When you realize you’re the person...

I was visiting Martin in Indiana a week or so ago, and during the weekend I was there, we went to spend some time with his friend in Chicago. Because I don't know Indiana well, I chose to do my long run in Chicago that morning and then return to spend the afternoon with the two of them. WELL. They play "cribbage." Have you heard of this card game? Cribbage is an extremely challenging game to learn because there are A LOT of parts and rules. There's even an entire culture around...

This podcast was inspired by an email that I wrote recently about humans and their expectations for me to push them up the hill. I'm going to let you in on a little secret: I never want to do anything. Ever. Right now I'm being more consistent with my running, which means fewer days off, and the same mileage. So, instead of running 5-6 days per week, I'm attempting to take no days off (unless something comes up, like a 12-hour drive to another state, which I have planned for next week.) I...

For those of you who know me, you know I love social media. I was in the second-ever cohort of Facebook users, and I love Instagram as a resource of information. (I taught myself to run distance pretty much from shit I read on Instagram.) Yet, I see a lot of people falling into comparison traps with social media, ignoring the very basic idea that everything is curated. Much like we allow our critical faculty between the conscious and subconscious mind to lower so that we can enjoy a movie...

I begin this podcast with my age-old “story” — “I HATE COMMUNITY” I’ve been saying this for just about all of my life, yet finding community was the thing that helped me change my entire life back in 2018, and continues to help aid and facilitate for me tremendous understanding, awareness, and growth. When you lack community, you lack evidence that things can be different. You are the makeup of the five to six people closest to you, and if they are stagnant, afraid, self-loathing,...

Years ago, I used to believe I could give a human information, and they would make transformation. I would busy myself with consuming book after book, listening to revolutionary thing after revolutionary thing, because I “knew” if I just showed those humans where the juice was, they’d nourish themselves with it. It turns out, this is not the case… at all. Why? Because a human must also slow down to allow the connections to form in the brain. Information does not equal...

I'm baaaaack! In what has been a stellar start to 2023, I have taken a hiatus to figure out what currently is sucking my joy. I have fallen out of love, but as I mentioned in this episode, it’s not with The Get the F*ck Off Podcast. I somehow learned the idea growing up (how, I do not know,) that joy should be put on pause until a later time. Last year, I sacrificed the thing in my life that brought me the most joy in favor of my work, and for it, I mis-created all over the damn...

I typically boycott New Year's content, but I realized something powerful this year- if you're gonna consume it anyway, it might as well be from me! I’m “one of those transformational humans” that has figured out not only how to have a lasting transformation, but how to guide others to do the same. You might think it’s a set of “do this, then do that.” There is some of that, for sure. However, most of it is renegotiating your subconscious, limiting beliefs. In this episode, I break down...

This week, I couldn’t be more delighted to have my friend Jill Andersen, speaker, coach, and recovering rule follower as my guest on the Get the F*ck Off Podcast. Jill is one of the founding members of my group, Day 1. Recently, she had one of the most powerful speaking events of her career. The secret: being here now. Like many of us, Jill used to “live in the future.” “Once I get here then…” The focus was always on “the next point,” rather than the joy in the journey. When we live in...

100 episodes ago, I started The Get the F*ck Off Podcast with the sole intention to help people “get off the smokes, get off the sauce, get off your ass.” The thing is, as a coach, I have worked with almost no one who has had this desire. This is because by the time people get to me, they know that their symptoms (drinking, overeating, smoking, gambling, over-working, constantly producing, UNDER-producing, crippling anxiety) is all a surface-level manifestation of the deeper shit living in...

My guest for my 100th episode is a human that I hold very close to my heart- a human who, if not for his very existence, my life would not be as it is today.  I started following Andy Petranek during my first Whole Life Challenge, as he was the co-founder, and posted a lot of content I found motivational. By the next year, I knew with 100% certainty that meeting him was part of my path forward. He was far from me geographically and had no idea who I was, but it was like there was an...

The main thing I see people making missteps with with dry January? We’re just trying to “put stuff down.” If you’re sober curious, don’t you want the whole picture. For all of you loyal listeners of the Get the F*ck Off Podcast, I would like to invite you to The Sober Series. This is a one-time offering from me to help you gear up for dry January. Unlike my other offerings, this is not coaching. It’s purely informational, but is held in a live roundtable on AllTakes once per week. We’re...
