I love, love movies, and I love listening to movie podcasts. My top complaints about many of them: 1. They stray way too far into random tangents. 2. They don’t understand the plot, characters, and/or themes of the movie they are reviewing. 3. They don’t understand/appreciate the history and/or...Read full review »

Zach & Matt are pretty insightful about cinema & work well with each other - also if you’re interested in an accumulation of discussion about how time works these guys are for you! They are definitely NOT ‘movie bros’ - digging really deep into the background of each movie they review...Read full review »

Genuinely funny podcast. Thorough movie reviews and a dive into the art of movie making. I love the pod!

I’ve listened to a lot of movie podcasts, and many of them are great—but Zach and Matt’s show remains undefeated in my book. They have this laid-back style that makes for easy listening, plus their self-deprecating humor and rants are funny and all too relatable. Yet they also take the time to...Read full review »

Some podcasts (most, these days) just get too pc for their own good, but you can’t accuse this one for that, and I find that refreshing. I’ve stopped listening to certain ones for that very reason, & it’s shame some people let their self-righteous behavior influence their movie fandom....Read full review »

Thanks guys been listening to the podcast for a good two years now and love the humour and format. I’m British and did appreciate the football (proper football) talk on the semi recent a clock work orange episode. Love the humour and I often pick films now around recent episode releases if I...Read full review »

This is such a great vibe! Funny, entertaining, informative, unpretentious. Love their dynamic and while it’s obvious they put a lot of time and effort, there’s still a feeling of effortlessness and spontaneity about it, which makes it super enjoyable as a listener. Thanks for putting this out...Read full review »

An incredible achievement. Something special and fun to listen to each week. A casual conversation with friends about movies - it’s really not any more complicated than that. Zero ego, interesting content and plenty of laughs.

If anyone could have turned a review of “Heavy” into a genuine LOLfest while still respecting the film’s gravitas, it’s Matt and Zach. I stumbled across this podcast while looking for a review of Five Easy Pieces. These two have an innate sense of what makes and breaks their subjects, copious...Read full review »

Matt and Zach are great; you can tell they put a lot of time and effort into each episode. Some movie podcasts are too stuffy, others are too jokey, but this one is just right - I’d say the split is about 68.2/31.8.

Listened to the Requiem episode after a traumatic re-watch. Thanks so much for your thoughtful analysis and a little humor. I have to say though, I think Harry and Marian were in love !!

A fun hang out pod with a couple of film bros. Zach has good insights and the shade he throws toward co-bro Matt is funny. I’ve learned new things, I’ve cried, I’ve hurled while listening to this show. Only some of those things are directly related to the content of the pod. I can’t wait to get...Read full review »

Thanks for the great Christmas episode. I loved your take on how awful the Tanner girls are and how the Tanner family takes control of the airport situation and what the real life consequences would have been. Plus the insights about thd Kinmy hating had me absolutely crying with laughter 😂

These guys are great. Each show is nicely paced and the movies they review are broken down in a logical manner. I especially like how when they quote a movie line they get it exactly right. I hate when lines are misquoted. Favorite episodes of mine - “ Once upon a time in Hollywood“ and “Roadhouse“

One of the few movie podcasts where I listen to every episode, even for movies I haven’t seen! Your choices are always great and the conversations are funny and insightful. On par with the Rewatchables, minus the pretentious-ness that comes with some of the people at The Ringer. Keep it up!
