I enjoyed these episodes with Richard E Grant very much - he got the balance right. But there was one with Bill Bryson and John Mullan, who ruined it. He's a no mark academic (those who can't do teach etc), who thinks he's funny and clever and is painfully not, and squandered a lovely...Read full review »

I love most things the Guardian puts out. On the Books podcast the presenters are extremely knowledgeable and they get the big guests. Also, not an annoying voice in the bunch. Even the Aussie doesn’t have an Australian accent. Bless.
