“I‘ve been listening to the guardian audio long read for 4 years. I started to listen regularly because most episodes managed to capture my interest, even if they were on a topic I had no previous interest in. They did this in a brilliantly simple and straightforward way: by brilliant writing and good reading. But I’ve been gritting my teeth through listening recently, due to the new production style. The sounds don’t add anything other than annoyance and making it sound like a radio drama. I couldn’t even get through the first minute of the most recent one, and I wish I could! The topic really interests me.”
