FeminEasts love it too
The Guilty Feminist has reached Southeast Asia! Well, at least few of my friends back there. I moved to London six months ago and felt that I was shrinking due to cultural and gender barriers. But I've thrived in London's corporate world and listening to Sophie and Deborah's irreverent take on women's issues. I had the chance to go to their recording and the topic about apologising was so relevant. My emails and my conversations feel more true to myself now in an empowering way. I felt I needed to be that "nice Asian lady" in the office to be liked thereby creating a non-hostile environment (I don't even know why?!). But things are different now. I am more myself. I told my friends about it and they've started listening! One of my friends was inspired by "I'm a feminist but" and she was inspired by that line that pushed her to fight for the opportunity to attend a conference in HongKong. The CEO loved her line - "I'm a feminist but my fate of going to the conference is in the hands of one man." So, thank you. You are making an impact in our lives.Read full review »

Wonderful, inspiring stuff. Lols a-plenty. Asked for something this week without saying sorry (and got it). Mwahs to DFW and SH. Hoping SRO bless me with tickets for the next recording...
