“My Mondays inevitably go like this. I wake up, get ready for the day and settle down to work. I’m full of the typical Monday slump—the internal workweek motor is coughing, sputtering how it would rather nestle in the covers and read a good book. I offer it music, a nice drink, and a comfy chair, but to no avail. And then it hits me—it is Monday, and Jonathan Rogers has graced us with another episode of The Habit. The work engine crackles to life (I should probably have it checked) and I whisked away for about half an hour (give or take) into a delight conversation rooted in a deep love for words, truth, goodness, and beauty. There is something to be learned for each episode of this podcast. The guests are insightful and cover facets of writing I did not know existed. If you’re a writer at some point you will hear a comment and think, “Someone else thinks about writing the same way!” But before you get too comfortable you’re introduced to someone with ideas that make you consider things you never have—or perhaps you have pondered but never had the words to express it. Jonathan Rogers is a wonderful host, and he draws out some great conversations from his guests. If you have yet to begin this podcast, I encourage you to listen to every one.”
