Wow
I’ve never written a review on a podcast before but The Harrowing was fabulous. A must listen. More please!

Whoever wrote that you can’t leave the Sgt. rotting in jail must not have read Edgar Alan Poe or have grown up with Rod Serling, Alfred Hitchcock and classic film noir of the 30’s and 40’s. That being said, I hope there’s more and they don’t really end it that way. I’m driving from Oregon to...Read full review »

This is a great immersive story but a little disappointed with the end.
Cmy10 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 06/26/21
I found this a very far fetched drama which held no surprises. You could blatantly guess where every episode was leading and I found myself rolling my eyes when the ‘surprises’ were revealed. Very amateurish writing, although excellent acting - thus the two stars. I have no idea why the brilliant...Read full review »

I tried listening to a few episodes to give this one a fair shot but honestly, it was too cliche for me. I know the main character - I’ve seen this depiction of a female cop a thousand times (usually written by men too). Then there’s the stranger character whose introduction comes with it the...Read full review »

This was the first story type of podcast I’d listened too and I must say I really enjoyed it. The storyline was interesting and well dramatised. It’s also not too long and drawn out like others can be. I found the immersive sounds really cool and really helped to draw you into the story.

I had to quit on episode 2. Maybe there is a good story buried in there, But I felt like I was trapped in a soap opera. Example: 1) Detective searches a home for missing people. OK so this is pretty normal for a detective. How to search? Rampage from room to room huffing, ghasping and...Read full review »

A gripping story. Without the excellent acting the plot would seem far fetched but the realism of the voices and sound design made this an excellent listen.

Especially the latest with the police man. Thai is an absolute gem where you feel right at the heart of events and Vanessa’s narration is pitch-perfect - confiding and authoritative

A brilliant production. Casting was perfect. Story line gripped me from the off, was fast paced and creepily believable. Would make a superb TV dramatisation or traditional Christmas Eve supernatural/Ghost story. Loved it!

Meh
The first three episodes are absolutely terrific! Great performances by all, excellent writing and pacing. And then, alas, we veer dangerously close to Goblet of Fire territory and it all gets a bit... ...action blockbustery. Pass.

This was very well acted by all however I had to keep turning the volume up to hear the actor speak as the sound effects weee to Loud! Then it was too loud at times that I had to turn it down quick. Quite frustrating hence 3 stars.

Cant believe you ended it this way! They go off into the sunset and sergeant rots in an asylum? Seriously? You gotta write a sequel where she gets out!

I saw this podcast recommendation and can’t believe I hadn’t heard of it sooner. I listen to a lot of BBC radio dramas and this is the same level of quality. The writing and narration is flawless.
