Well produced, well acted hokum but not as great as some reviews would have you think.
I’m enjoying the show it’s not exactly original and I think that it was better when it was slightly less ripping yarns. Don’t get me wrong I like the supernatural elements but it’s gone kind of hammer horror meets dr who 1974, which isn’t a bad thing per se but it does seem to be a default position for certain types of British horror/sci-fi. There’s no exposition worth speaking of. Where did the military folk come from and who leads them when Satan isn’t incarnate! The island is good or bad or the people are I’m not sure but wait here’s the devil with his military team! It’s all a bit muddled to be honest. The cast is good with particular praise for the actress playing Twigg, to me she is the standout talent. Worth listening to and I would have preferred longer episodes.

The story, writing, and acting are fantastic. The music is well-chosen. It’s immersive. I’m amazed.
