Production great but cliche characters and stories
Love the production value, and I’m a big fan of these types of stories - but the introduction of characters feels very caricature (out-of-their-depth mainland police officer, the local farmer, the ‘scar on the face’ of the foreign‘villain’...). Would love something more nuanced and culturally profound rather than reinforcing stereotypes.

More reviews of The Harrowing
This is a well paced and highly compelling piece of drama which draws you inexorably into its whorling centre. The voice actors are brilliant - particularly Joanna Froggatt. Hats off to Fremantle and the director - looking forward to the next!

This is radio drama at its best. If you’ve ever been gripped by a radio drama before, you’ll love this.

Absolutely tremendous! One of the best drama podcasts ever! On a par with The Case of Charles Dexter Ward and Whisperer in Darkness. Joanne Froggat plays the police sergeant to perfection! So pleased I came across this.
