An American accent for a U.S. audience
Sorry - the content may be interesting, but I can't listen for long to an American voice talking about English language, English history, European history, etc. As soon as I hear the first word that's pronounced differently to British English like 'status' ("stad-uss") or 'monarch' ("munrrrrk") I've lost interest. If that doesn't bother you, then the podcast seems fine and worth a listen. No offence intended to Americans, and I love the accent in other contexts, but for English history it's not for me.Read full review »
