Thanks for making a podcast about the history of Iran. In many education systems, this topic was only looked at very peripherally as part of ancient and classical greek studies (as Persia). I feel that today, by many outside Iran it is a country misunderstood. The world needs to look more closely...Read full review »

This is an excellent podcast. It is extremely informative. Yes, at times it resembles a university lecture, but I don't mind this format at all. Dr. Rezakhani is a fantastic narrator, superbly knowledgeable about the topic. There hasn't been an update on the episodes in a long, long time, but...Read full review »

This is an underrepresented area in the history podcast library of itunes, and I look forward to the host continuing his slow march through the history of the region in the time to come. He clearly has a wealth of knowledge to share.

The content of this podcast is top notch: in part because it is hosted by someone who clearly has a deep, scientific knowledge of the topic: in part because it sheds light on new research that has not yet been incorporated into the popularly known history of the region. The only criticism I have...Read full review »

I am learning a lot, and the topic is very interesting. I really hope the episodes keep coming. My only problem is that I wish the episodes came out more often.

This is an excellent and scholarly podcast by an academic historian: fun and well-researched! I especially like hearing his prevarication - such a historian thing to do. The author keeps apologizing for late episodes; this isn't necessary. His work is a gift, and we understand that things...Read full review »

This podcast is laid out a little differently than the more "doctrinal" format. Still enjoyable but believe The podcast needs more time to fall into its own element.

This podcast talks about so much more than just a succession of rulers. Political history lends itself quite well to the narrative format of podcasts, but histories have long since moved on from Plutarch-ian "great men you should learn from" stories. In the first 6 episodes, I have already...Read full review »

Interesting subject, but it feels like too much jammed into each episode. I understand that there may not be many sources to draw material from. It just gets really confusing at times. Hope it gets better.

The podcast is by an academic historian so it benefits from him being very knowledgeable but suffers in that it sometimes resembles a university lecture. It can be a little hard to follow sometimes but is overall quite good. Unfortunately the episodes are few and far between so it is hard to keep...Read full review »

I have come to think of this as "The History of the Other Side." With most English speakers coming from a largely Eurocentric schooling this new podcast fills in the blanks on a fascinating region, worthy of learning about. The podcast is well written and engaging, seeking to balance the social...Read full review »

Although this podcast is a good idea, the podcaster is not the right person to do it. He may have the Ph.D. in the subject, but he just does not have the voice to engage an audience with the story. I found the podcasts to be pedantic lectures and facts ad nauseum and not really the history of...Read full review »

This covers a very important region for the development of world history that's sometimes overlooked, at least by the general public in the West. First off let me say this is a podcast that simply has to be done and I am happy someone is doing this. Iran has played a key role in world events many different times, from the ancient Persians up until the present day. Now as a student of primarily Roman and Greek history, the limit of my...Read full review »

Sounds like this will be interesting, at least once it gets started. In the 2nd episode, KR states that his input suggests that episodes should not exceed 20 minutes. I disagree - I'd like for them to be longer, but I will keep listening.
