The quality of university education in Nigeria has deteriorated over the years. Key to this has been inadequate funding. The Academic Staff Union of Universities and the Federal Government have had several confrontations leading to strike action that continue to disrupt the education of young students. The solution might just be in finding new ways of funding public universities and avoid the total reliance on government.

Since the early 1970s young Nigerians have been shot at by police officers and the army for protesting peacefully. Since then, nothing has changed and just like in the 70s the police is still using brute force to gag and intimidate peaceful protesters. And so on this episode we go on a history of police violence on protesters to see if any lessons has been learnt particularly with respect to the recent End SARS protests.
