Ms Cullen I appreciate your calm tone and general reasonableness; but allowing Smith to talk and talk (and not answer questions) is disingenuous to those of us who are living in the Alberta that has failing healthcare, failing education, and no housing plan. The fact that she wants to save all...Read full review »

Glad that he was interviewed. Now I know he lives. Apathetic? He doesn’t respond to emails.

Catherine Cullen is soooooo good and not shouty.

This podcast is the embodiment of the CBCs Liberal party bias and of no journalistic integrity.

The lack of coverage of the emergency act inquiry is the exact reason I no longer trust the CBC and MSM in general. I think getting funding pulled out and making the MSM operate like any other business is a good idea because right now I see it as a propaganda station for the government and I mean...Read full review »

An important issue was completely overlooked in your discussion. Melanie Bechard said private clinics have no issue recruiting nurses as they can work 9 to 5 Monday to Friday. People need medical service any time of the day including weekends. A 9 to 5 availability is fine for some services but...Read full review »

Chris, Sorry to hear that you are leaving the show. It will be hard to find an equal to fill your shoes. If you are retiring then I hope you enjoy every second of the rest of your life. However, I do hope that some time in the future I will find you in a similar endeavour like Peter Mansbridge...Read full review »

Another great CBC pod. Guests that matter and usually a pretty good scrum at the end

This podcast is great. It's very informative. But I find it has the same issues every week. The overall volume is often times too low and I find it hard to hear it sometimes. Other issues are still prevalent, but not common. What I mean by this is that, there was dead air where I feel like...Read full review »

The CERB program is providing 15 -17 year old kids living at home an unprecedented windfall. There are parents with substantial earning reductions having to manage massive financial stress. The assessment of the program needs to consider this issue.

The best thing about my Saturday morning every week is listening to The House. Thank you, folks. I often feel better informed after this hour of conversation.

I have listened to this podcast/radio show for years. I hate to criticize your good work, but I find the format is rather stale. Interview with expert, interview with politician, interview with senior official, etc. The best segment you’ve ever had was the political panel (which is refreshingly...Read full review »

The deputy PM refused to answer Chris’ questions and continuously changed the tone of the interview to serve her purposes. Ms. Freeland must be one skilled interviewee if you see Chris’ attempts to keep her on topic as interrupting too much. I thought Ms. Freeland likely preset the conditions...Read full review »

This show is good but it would be better if the host did not constantly cut off and interrupt his guests. He cut off the deputy PM so much. Sorry dude people want to hear her not you .

I try to listen to this regularly to be informed but I find myself often forcing myself to make it through the episode. I’m not quite sure where this fits relative to Power & Politics or other shows. The interviews seem nasty at points they don’t need to be and soft when they should dig...Read full review »

Generally a big fan of the podcast and the host. There are times when he could be a bit tougher on the guests (particularly the politicians), but generally he is pretty good. Listening to the politicians skirt questions can be extremely frustrating, although it is not always for lack of trying...Read full review »

I like the show but the interviews are a waste of time. The politicians speak a lot of words but never say anything. Canadian politicians are especially brutal at this.

Oh so Canadian: well produced, content rich, but so boring! C’mon news and politics don’t have to be so safe and predictable. I subscribe, but I must confess, I rarely listen... too bad the show ones was captivating.

Great perspective and reporting on Canadian politics. Often with interviews from relevant politicians

I think this is a great show. I've noticed that the house often tackles same subjects as power and politics. This is ok sometimes, however I expect more on the working of parliament, and a higher level of detail in politics on this show.Read full review »

The house presents Canadian politicians an political players of all colours in an interview style fashion. The interviews focus on presenting the politicians opinions as opposed to finding potential faults in their arguments.

CBC is dying. And its journalists are angling for jobs as political strategists for the politicians that they are supposed to be holding to account. Subscribe to hear every poll and ad scrutinized. For substantive content, look elsewhere.

This show used to be good up until 2011 with Kathleen Petty as a fairly balanced host. Since then, the show has been reduced to the new host Evan Solomon fawning over the LPC while lobing loaded questions at CPC interviewees. I exagerate, but only slightly. I stopped listening, frankly, where...Read full review »

Simply put, awful. It's not the show per say. It used to be a Saturday morning favorite when it was hosted by Kathleen Petty. It was balanced and fair. But this new host is terrible. A political show that reflects our revulsion of politics, but also our understanding that politics affects all parts of our lives. Clear, easy to understand language is used to explain the winding roads politicians use, and the show doesn't pick sides - they pick on everyone. Keep asking tr...Read full review »
