I have paid for the Patreon service and can see the DD flowing out of my account yet I can’t access the Patreon podcasts without it asking to take more money from me 😭

Tom and Hugh exchange and challenge their macro narratives/prejudices on US, UK, and global market dynamics and potential timelines. They get into their differences on the “Red Cabbage”, 40 years of deflation, and the Chinese closed capital account in the Patreon segment.

So glad to have found the Acid Capitalist. I now know I have been investing blindfolded without the in-depth insight provided by the podcast host. Never too old to learn!

Love Hugh and enjoy some of his interviews. The recent move to start streaming only 20 mins of often public interviews he has done then insisting on patreon contributions to hear the rest of the interview is not welcome. You lost me as a loyal listener Hugh. Hope to hear you talk again in the...Read full review »

Hugh is a bit of a weird character, seems to be focusing his time now on building a cult to follow him and pay for his waffling. Each to their own, far better market commentators out there.
BeHumbleQwer via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 05/29/23
Would have given 4* before just because Hugh has a pretty unique take on things, even if his style is often rambling and incoherent. Now what insight he has might be saved for paid subscribers, not worth my time to find out.

Thank you Hugh for continuing to produce this great content. I highly value the perspective of you and your guests. It’s refreshing to hear the various issues explored in depth with unique thought that doesn’t simply repeat the main stream narratives regurgitated by financial media.

Hugh is always insightful and entertaining. Sometimes he speaks in parables, or perhaps Esperanto, but deciphering his message is certainly worthwhile.

Hugh challenges his listeners to think where the never-ending fight of our policymakers against the gradual decline into disorder will take us next. ‪Would not the ultimate absurd provocation be the the risk-free asset losing its permanence yet still making widows of those who forecasted its demise?

Respect to Hugh for sharing his macro insights. Please continue it very much appreciated.

Love Hugh and his honest takes.

Bright, talented and entertaining guy but no structure. Seems to be a stream of consciousness with little conclusion or clarity / a shame and missed opportunity.

Hugh and his guests are top notch. If you have an interest in macro and are open to different point of views when it comes to “money”. This is the podcast for you. Hugh is one of the few people in the world who understand money and is worth listening to. The fact that we have access to the...Read full review »

Hendry combines scintillating intellectual conversation with uncomfortable, Ricky Gervais’esque moments…..educational and entertaining

I always come away with a new appreciation of the thought processes of Hugh’s guests. Even if I would never attempt to replicate their practices, I still gain perspective from the conversation. Thanks, Hugh, for bringing such varied practices and personalities to my earbuds.

Very much appreciate Hugh taking guests to task for shoddy risk management and faulty logic. For god’s sake get a Bkoomberg or other data vendor so ypu’re mot always looking for the price of whatever you’re talking about. Why say it in 5 words when you can say it in 250? Because time is the most precious commodity. Thats why.

It is a great podcast for macro content and entertainment. I smile all along the podcasts. Well done Hugh!

Hugh Hendry is not afraid to ask even the finance industry’s most respected personalities tough questions to test their investment theses and theories. A true non-conformist with an incredible understanding of macroeconomics.

Hugh, absolutely love your show, guests, irreverence and asymmetrical insights. Look forward to the return of the Alchemist. PS - when will you name the 5 who understand money? Jeff

I’m not in the financial industry, but I can recognize original thinking when I see it. This man is brilliant, hilarious, and entertaining even if, like me, you have to listen to an episode a few times to really understand it.

I understand your argument about today’s bond market acting as a firebreak and repricing immediately you get the inflation, thereby pushing back on those same pressures, but to say that wasn’t the case in the 1970s is just not true. I covered those markets back then and while it is true in the...Read full review »

Episode 73 but maybe it should have been 42 as these hitchhikers fire up Deep Thought and ask the Ultimate Questions of Macro. It’s a blast, great show guys, I loved it.

Branchflower, Pines, Eifert. Fantastic episodes. Looking forward to more of the same. Although I much prefer the episodes without the loud shouty guy.

Great podcast! Common to hear insider/outside the mainstream opinions on current and past market conditions. A refuge from the hackneyed opinions of CNBC contributors.

The alchemist seems to be on drugs or is just retarded. Stupid jokes. Cut it and continue with the interviews of the guests. Let them talk.

Been listening for a while and really enjoying the irreverent banter laced with thoughtful insights. Favourite episode is the Carl Icahn one which was like a late night good natured debate in a Glasgow wine bar. Feroldi one was er, weird. Keep up the good work.
