So great to hear the backgrounds and stories from so many different bands! Nothing better than discovering hidden gems musically and Jon Lamoreaux continues to bring these musicians on his show. Thanks for working so hard to make this happen!!

So interesting and enthusiastic. Shorter music clips, please. Truly running out of guests as they are getting more obscure as time passes.

This podcast is a dumpster fire without any redeeming qualities. Knowledge of actual music and the music business by the host is non-existent. Skip this one folks, you’ll never get the wasted time back.

Thorough and interesting interviews with musicians of bands that made great music. It also delves into the human/business side; how that career changed them; hence, “the hustle”.

This is a podcast for music geeks like me who read the fine print - who read all the credits from every album they buy (in whichever format). If background information on producers, engineers, songwriters, session musicians, as well as the artists themselves is of interest to you, then this is...Read full review »

This is now unlistenable. John using this podcast to push his anti-republican / pro liberal opinion is a turn-off.

Jon’s passionate, upbeat, warm music interviews are so joyful to listen to. I love his heartfelt enthusiasm for music and all the interesting facts/song snippets included (which no doubt require hours of work). The end of the episode with the singer from Nelson was really beautiful and moving....Read full review »

John is a sincere and enthusiastic interviewer and clearly loves the topic but … that’s not enough to get 4 or 5 stars His research lets him down, he’ll routinely ask someone to opine on records they didn’t work on and fail to recognise titles and tracks and projects his interviewees want to...Read full review »

It’s clear Jon loves music and this always comes across from his enthusiastic approach to his interviews. There’s a genuine curiosity when Jon speaks to people and a respect for their craft. An easy and rewarding way to spend an hour or so.

Jon is livin the dream here and we get to listen along! Imagine if you got to interview your music idols—impress them with your knowledge of deep cuts and ask them personal questions about $, fame and relationships. Sounds super fun to me. If you haven’t listened before start with the 7/10/22 episode and you get an idea of what kind of person hosts this show The pure hatred he and his guests have for anyone who disagrees politically...”moronic idiotic villains”...is disgusting yet comical at the same time. I am indeed late to the podcast party, but for some reason 'The Hustle' was the one that got on my radar and I haven't turned back since. I've been in the music industry for over 30 years and know a thing or two about many of the guests Jon brings onto the show...but the beautiful...Read full review »

John gets some great and obscure guests from the bands that I love and clearly enjoys talking to them. He also asks some fairly interesting deep cut or off the wall questions, different from many interviewers. I think his knowledge of the music that he likes is very deep. Jon is the kindest, most generous, most knowledgeable music podcaster out there. He gets the most fantastic behind-the-scenes guests you’ve never heard of and some of the ones you have.

Just like having someone scratch an itch you can’t quite reach, Jon asks the questions that we wish we could. I only stumbled across this podcast through an interview with Justin Currie of Del Amitri, and have been entertained by many more shows since then. I look forward to going deeper into the catalog. I especially appreciated the Paula Cole, and Juliiana Hatfield interviews. THANK YOU! C.Cheese.

I love the format of the show and the guests are really interesting. In addition, I enjoy listening to the extra “deep dives” and “book club” episodes as well. If you remember the 80s, Jon does a great job of getting a brilliant selection of musical guests, some you’ll know and some you won’t, but it’s always worth a listen. Jon is an exceptional interviewer. Hey John. I love your podcast. I’ve given a five star review to it because it’s much deserved. I came upon your podcast through the rock solid podcast that Pat Francis does.
