The Best Film Pod on the Interwebs
It's a shame that this pod doesn't have a bigger audience. The banter is friendly, the takes are rarely sizzling, the scope of interest is wide, both of the hosts are intelligent and entertaining, and rarely will an episode go by without a new movie rec or interesting critical tidbit. The Important Cinema Club is like a pod version of a good zine or pre-internet foreign VHS find: a bit off beat, a little obscure, but always filled with content that is creative, self aware, and never contemptuous of the audience. If you are on the fence about subscribing, I suggest starting with the Sammo Hung, Chantal Akerman, or James Whale episodes. Enjoy!Read full review »
