Important, Fun, But NOT Pretentious!
These guys KNOW cinema, and they are not pretentious about it. They talk about high art and trash cinema in a fun and accessible way, with equal enthusiasm, knowledge and a hiliarious sense of humor. The banter is great, and they regularly challenge each other's sensibilities, but the overwhelming sense of comaraderie and mutual cinephilic(?) passion is infectious. They also regularly check their privilege and draw intelligent boundaries around the things they can or should comment on (much appreciated). I've learned a ton from them, and they've even answered a few of my questions on air. Makes other - even very good - film podcasts seem a bore and a snore. Check out their recent Werner Herzog episode for a taste of the best of what they do.Read full review »

Wonderful film podcast. The two hosts have a genuine chemistry and go out of their way to discuss things out of their wheelhouse. Has turned me onto a lot of great films and filmmakers I would have never heard of!
