Terribly constructed, hopping randomly around, and as much as I want to like the host I found her quite annoying. I'm five episodes on and episode four incensed me... we hear about how she might not have a job any more because they're considering ditching the podcast, but she hasn't...Read full review »

A great look into work life, and just life in general . This show is fantastic for any listener getting a fresh start at a new job or in a new city.

When I first discovered this podcast I was ecstatic. Cool, raw content with a lot of first hand insight within tech/start ups and in NY (especially for me being a California native and wanting to move to NY). Huge disappointment in the lack of follow up episodes and how far apart they were....Read full review »

For someone with no background in radio, production , or editing, this podcast is really good. She's a natural storyteller. The fact that the podcast is raw and not as clean as more established shows is the POINT. She was hired as an intern for a start up to create a podcast about creating a...Read full review »

There are a handful of ‘I’m a young person documenting my life’ podcasts out there right now, but I feel like this one stands out in terms of both going deep with real-world details (the negotiating the salary episode is particularly poignant), while at the same time retaining a tight and...Read full review »

I can not listen to this woman at all. Her voice is so croaky, irritating and mechanical, sounds like she is constantly on the verge of tears. Awful.

With the exception of the CHKN episode that seems out of touch with the rest of it, this is the only show I have ever binge listened to except for "Serial 1". The story telling is engaging, the honesty and the fresh view into the tech world is amazing. I hope the direction of the original...Read full review »

Allison is an ok host - she gets the job done and does some awkward things for our entertainment/education but the episodes are so infrequent and content too shallow to really get attached. Instead I find Allison annoying and I'm sure she's really a lovely person!! I wonder if she is forced to...Read full review »

As a 20-something co-owner of a medical and tech start-up, I find this podcast incredibly relatable. Some reviews have noted that while the podcast is quality, it lacks clear direction; that is exactly how I feel about my life and that vibe is what I find so charming about this podcast. Allison...Read full review »

This is refreshingly honest and entertaining - have so enjoyed learning about your life and new job, and (I surprise myself) about world of tech startups! I had no idea what this was - totally fascinating. Well written and so easy to listen to, apart from when you ask for a raise where I felt so...Read full review »

This podcast is excellent. However, the latest episode about CHKN felt not as polished as before. Perhaps it's because so much of it seemed to be focused on this game, and it was difficult to see how it connected to Allison. It was not quite as introspective, nor was there struggle or anxiety. I...Read full review »

I loved this podcast at the beginning, but the episodes come out so sporadically. If creating a podcast is her full time job, how is it possible to release a 30 minute episode every month or so and not be fired? I liked the cool vibe in beginning but this last chkn episode with the " send me $2...Read full review »

Love the concept, find the host endearing, and know how much potential this series has. There was an episode or two that had lots of great content - navigating a new job, learning ins and outs of the industry, startups in NYC. But that great content is only sprinkled throughout the few...Read full review »

Incredibly interesting concept. Love the idea of an intern exploring an industry in NYC. The host is endearing, and I'm rooting for her. Unfortunately, the story lacks direction. The Intern is a delight when it pops up on my feed. The host, Alison, is honest and open and nothing short of a breath of fresh air. Not frequent enough to get annoying, but regular enough to consider it a treat: highly recommended.

I really enjoyed this podcast in the beginning. It was raw, real, honest, and downright compelling. But the most recent CHKN episode gave me a sour taste. I’m not sure it’s the host’s doing or beta works, but it takes AGES for a new episode to come out… then you ask us to pay for unique content?!...Read full review »

I’m a freelancer and I like to listen to podcasts while I’m working - this is easily the best one I’ve heard this year. Your conversational style is really engaging and I’m rooting so hard for you! (And I also kinda want to move to NYC and intern at a tech startup now.)

I'm a teacher so it's been fascinating to listen to a former teacher who just decided to try something new. I love the honesty and insecurity and enthusiasm. This podcast is so real. This whole podcast reeks of self importance and self obsessions. "I had to carry a mattress and it was soooo hard." I love having a look into the startup world through the eyes of a person I truly like to listen to. She’s not douchey at all! So refreshing in that industry. And I really like how she builds her story arc, and uses music and sounds to add intrigue. I can’t believe this is your first podcast.

I've been listening since the preview, and it's been great to listen to Allison get her footing.
