Favourite new podcasts. I’ve learnt a lot a about music, and bands known and beloved, and new. And learnt an equal amount about the art of a good interview. Sign up for the Patreon. Thanks James.

Simply my favourite podcast. Loved the EMF one: James was right about Stigma being a classic! Keep it up ! Donald MacLean

Listening to this interview with Adam Franklin. The host is subtly caustic from the start. Adam is too much of a gentleman to push back and just ignores it. Host seems to know almost nothing about music

What a much needed shot-in-the-soul with fun, interesting, and truly unique interviews with ace bands. James seems to be able to get bands chatting, chat about anything, and it’s just great to be invited to listen in on wherever the chat goes! I’m loving it!

Essential listening for music fanatics. James’ interviews are enlightening in ways you’d never expect. Guests are comfortable here to share thoughts and tales you just won’t find anywhere else. It’s journalism of the highest quality.

This is one of my favourite podcasts! Really good guests with a lovely conversational feel to the show. James is a wonderful host and asks really good questions. I’ve found out about some really cool bands and books through this show that I probably would have missed otherwise.

James has a really relaxed warm interview style. He’s at ease with his guests and lets the conversation flow naturally even when it takes some unexpected twists. I’m looking forward to listening to more.

I listen to all of them, doesn’t matter if I know or like the artist being interviewed. I find it opens me up to all sorts of new stuff, James makes it all run smoothly and it’s a constant companion on dog walks. Can’t think of a reason not to give it a go.

James brings in a huge range of guests from the world of music and always coaxes a good story. His special power is being into (or at the very least appearing to be into) what his guests are talking about, encouraging them to reach into themselves for the good stuff, and asking the kind of...Read full review »

James McMahon has been my favourite music journalist in print for two decades. And now he’s my favourite music journalist in audio form!

So many of my favourite bands, and so interesting to hear what was going on for them when they were making the songs I love and to reflect back on complicated rimes. James is a superb interviewer too.
