Impacting My Life
I just wanted to share this because I know it will make you all smile. There are certain things that happen after taking the time to develop ourselves. Development is constant and should be a task we focus on forever. God instilled in me a passion for leadership and at first, I never understood why. When I first listened to “The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership” I gained certain seeds that would sit in my mind. Then, when I was about to graduate college with my degrees, God told me to stay at a place called Planet Fitness. There, they had a personal development program which introduced me to reading John Maxwell. God told me to become the assistant manager and that role pushed me way outside of my comfort zone. I learned leadership in the battlefield. There were definitely times that were tough but I am proud to say I gave 110%. Even though there were days I could’ve done better, I went home and tried to figure out how I could improve. Another life change happened from my experience...I found the heart of God. I became so close with God and understood love for the first time. I understood serving others and being the “salt and light” in their lives. I read “The 5 Levels of Leadership” and it taught me relationships and leader development. Then through almost two years, I read/listened to 29 books. A majority of those were from John Maxwell. As I’m about to leave my job as a manager, I see the changes that have occurred. I see a shift in my team’s faith. I see a shift in attitude. I see multiple leaders emerging. As John helped me build much influence, I was able to share my faith in God almost every single day. I was able to be the leader Christ wanted us to be (a servant to others). As many have the wrong image of God, I’m proud to say that I did my best to show them the true image of God. On Easter one of my coworkers who used to question God and his existence, put a paper in my drawer about Christ and his love along with verses about it. I almost cried. Now as I’m about to leave, I got them each a book and wrote them a letter of encouragement personalized, pointing out their gifts. Thanks to John Maxwell and your podcasts (that I listen to every week) you have inspired me and taught me to be a multiplier in this world. I don’t want to just grow followers, I want to grow disciples. Leaders of the world who will be salt and light in people’s lives. Thank you so much Richard, Mark and of course my mentor(and dad), John Maxwell.

I look forward to the weekly podcast, it is truly inspiring, I’ve reading some if Dr Maxwell books as a result and they are incredible, one minor suggestion Mark reminding us every week that he is the CEO does not add any value to the content

Worth every second of my time. The things that are hard for me to hear are often what I need the most.
