Good work

It’s so nice that you get straight to the story instead of rambling on about a bunch of other nonsense or bantering with a co-host. It’s very refreshing. Great writing with great delivery. The music is strategically placed and just right…not too hot, not too cold. Perfect voice for...Read full review »

This is exactly what long time, long form true crime enthusiasts look for. Already up there with the greats, Bear Brook, Serial etc. really great work, please continue with a season 2 different case.

Highly recommend its very informative and helps you visualize the crime

Respectful, well-researched, impeccably paced, and - crucially - only releases content when there’s something legitimate to report or reflect on.

God willing most of us will never know what it’s like to be a family member tied to a tragedy such as this. But this was, for the most part, a gratuitous episode. The trial updates were useful but the rest of the episode should have been covered in mere minutes. The latter part of the episode...Read full review »

just binged this podcast in a day. this was the most insightful, educational, well-provided podcast on the murders. i learned the most info about this case from this podcast.
leigh19erin via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 01/29/24
I just binged all episodes. Excellent reporting and fair coverage of the suspect. Highly recommended.
Sharkgurly via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 01/04/24
This sucked. Inserting yourself into someone else’s trauma is clown behavior. “*I* was first on the scene” was said multiple times, who cares, good for you. You’re annoying. Believe it or not it’s possible, and better, to make a a quality true crime podcast without using the word “I” when you...Read full review »

Love this reporter and her previous coverage in Bad Blood, but there have been several updates in this case and it’s disappointing not to have any updates here.

This case is very sad!! ABC news did a great job gathering all the information and making it into a podcast!!!
just anotger guy at the bar via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 12/28/23
Well researched and presented.
Shez1878 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 12/09/23
Typical ABC…. Be at the forefront of sensationalism, but talk with disdain about when other “media” badger and harass citizens for their story. Report the story and stop praising yourself. You’re no better, or no worse than the “media”. Why? Because you are the “media”.

This podcast is very informative for anyone that didn’t know anything about The King Road Killings.

It was well done and a bit informative, but it wasn't anything that I couldn't just read about quickly on the Internet and bring myself up to speed. There wasn't a lot of meat on the bones of this one.Read full review »

The humble brags about being ‘the first’ to get an interview or break news or ‘ most ethical’ on the subject just rub me wrong. You’re not getting a cookie for being the first to get an interview with the victims sister or police Chief. You’re making a podcast - just get the facts right and have...Read full review »

Enjoyed this one. My only critique is how they brushed over the detectives zeroing in on the subject in the first place. I might have missed it, but they jumped to the FBI going through the trash at the parents house in PA for the DNA match. The podcast did not describe the initial clue that...Read full review »

For a moment, the speaker (lightly, but rightly) castigates online “sleuths”. Meanwhile, the scarcity of facts and data before the trial makes this podcast feel like a high-brow version of exploitation completely in denial about what it actually is. Had this not been stretched to six episodes, it...Read full review »

This podcast is informative but the presentation is trying to have its cake and eat it too.

Truly enjoyed listening to this podcast. I liked the fact that everything was fact checked. You know you’re hearing truth and not a fabricated story. Also, Kanya was very respectful to the families and friends that this tragedy touched. So appreciated it! 🤗

Some of these comments are ridiculous, don’t bother writing a review if you aren’t serious or just mentally impaired…this podcast is informative to a point, the gap between new episodes is too long

I found the pace perfect. Not slow at all for me. I was totally intrigued. Definitely among the best podcasts I’ve listened to

What sets this podcast apart is the sense that it was written and recorded with a good balance of interest in the story and respect/care for the victims and their families. Lots of people in the reviews are missing the point in the podcast’s critiques of sleuths and other media outlets. The...Read full review »

This is just a fight between the alternative media vs MSM! The reporter is. more worried about ABC/MSM image than actually reporting on the case. Personally I’d rather go with alternative, if the last 3 years are anything to go by.
@J_W via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 09/03/23
Very one-sided and victim-focused, to be expected in a horrific case. Not a BK defender at all but there is a reason it’s “innocent until proven guilty”. Hard to find unbiased reporting, especially in this podcast which is relying so heavily on sound bites from the Goncalves family who don’t even...Read full review »

This podcast is very hypocritical. Do they realize they are the media? And that their audience is people who listen to true crime? I don’t know why they are acting high brow here. Maybe point out that there are irresponsible people instead of saying “all media”. Because you are media.

If you are interested in a sound consolidated set of data which is well organized and factual, select this podcast. Far superior to any competitor.

This podcast is so well made and was so well-rounded. The interviews with the family members were so heartfelt. Looking forward to more as the case progresses through court.

Try listening on 1.75 or double time. way too much time spent talking about all the suspected but wrong answers. my podcast time is limited so I prefer tight well edited shows
wab41 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/21/23
This podcast is an organized, thorough and objective summary of this horrific crime and investigation. I will definitely listen to any follow up episodes and part 2.

will ruin a podcast. Also hate the faux intimate intonations of podcaster. Taken together, I’m finding it difficult to listen to.

Every cent you made off of this will be weighed against your soul. If you had a modicum of shame you would run into the woods and never take off your ashes and sackcloth.

I liked the approach to this podcast. Not focused on the obvious gore. Focused on people and events leading to the murders, the impact on community, “life” after the murders, and especially the respect for the victims. Sometimes informative, but Kayna really just likes the sound of her own voice. And by continually saying she was the “first reporter” on the scene, she’s trying to make a gross claim on the story. I think she wanted to get her podcast out before anyone else which resulted in a not so great podcast.
