Best In The World At What It Do
I first found TWFS when I found their video of the CM Punk and Samoa Joe match. I usually read the comments first, and I saw stuff like "Why are these two trying to be funny" or "Who are the idiots speaking over the match?" I'm glad I didn't let that influence me. Listening to the unlikely duo of Kevin Scampoli and Danny Richardson talking over Punk/Joe and even RVD/Cena was a great discovery. I felt instantly like I had a connection with them, as they were not the usual wrestling fans (what's a Pepsi Plunge) but instead they enjoyed what they were watching. It's not about the backstage politics but rather about how entertaining the product on screen is. I followed the link on the video and found out that it TWFS was actually a (then) weekly discussion. After five days, I had listened to episodes 1-44 and had gotten to listen to DX slimes Amanda Bynes live, and I heard the leaps and bounds that the discussion had made since its inception. Kevin Scampoli, or the hero of the people, is a great host. If anyone listens to the live discussion and compares it with the final product, Kevin goes through a lot to make sure the listeners are happy and enjoying the discussion. He maintains the order of the topics, creates his own songs and jingles, and has a great cadence. The enthusiasm he displays sets the tempo for the discussion and invites the listeners into the world of TWFS. Danny Richardson, the second mic/minion/co-host, plays the straight man to Kevin's exuberance. Danny is a vital part to the show, and if Kevin's "plan" of ever getting Danny to tap out and leave ever works, there would be many disappointed viewers. Danny knows many obscure wrestling facts and details that no one should know. He also has a part in entertaining the listeners when Kevin is otherwise occupied and allows everyone to take part through any means. The TWFS Locker Room is what makes this bi-weekly discussion the best. Fans from all over the world can join the locker room and enjoy wrestling together. TWFS creates an interactive environment that includes everyone and supports all opinions, no matter how absurd or delusional. TWFS has become a part of my life. I even joined Twitter to enhance my experience of this discussion. As has been stated before, TWFS is a great pick-me-up for when things are going wrong. I even listen to old episodes in my car or at home to get a good laugh. Kevin and Danny may not always be in the best of moods, but they sure put the listeners in one, and I am grateful for that. TWFS has survived the breakdowns, the roundtable discussions, lawyers, teenagers, and even Goldust, and they continue to persevere. So wrestling podcasts/2006 DX's, say hello to the 1997 DX, two guys who are just having fun pushing the envelope, and whose legacy just continues to grow. This is TWFS.Read full review »

Downloaded an episode and for the first 10 minutes, all the hosts did was talk to each other about each other and pretend to trade insults. I fast forwarded here and there and didn't find any discussion about wrestling. It's as if I was listening to an egotistical rock band having an...Read full review »
