“Do you think Marion has BPD? This disorder can leave family members totally at a loss for the BPD sufferer “abandoning” them. Sally and her brother have been “abandoned” by Marion. The prior behaviours that Marion engaged in with marriages and divorces and constantly moving house could be a manifestation of what we call “splitting” in BPD sufferers. It is tormenting to family members, and the loss that Sally feels will have no “rational” reason.”
