How odd and wonderful it is to discover someone like Jill Lapore. Broadly read, so curious and a compelling presenter. And apparently a great writer as well. Episodes are long enough to flesh out an idea but are also tightly edited.

I landed here after being very underwhelmed by The Alarmist. THIS is the clever, well researched, well prepared, bright, clever, intriguing history podcast Ive been looking for. Up there with Cautionary Tales for me. Ka pai!

I like the premise of the new podcast and I normally love everything Jill Lepore does and writes, but do you really need the cheesy sound effects and actor voice re-enactments?! Ugh. It would be so much better if Jill just read it, she is a really good narrator.
