The story is good, in spite of the host.
Maybe if we’re doing serious social justice investigative journalism, let’s widen the applicant pool beyond “guys who have the same name”? My guy, he doesn’t even pronounce it the same as you. I feel like all the interview subjects must have been rolling their eyes at this clown. He sounded drunk the whole time.

I was unable to stop listening. Artful, compassionate, beautiful.

You must certainly listen to this podcast for the story. While the narrator’s incessant self-reference and framing of the story through the lens of his own life proves annoying and results in some second-hand embarrassment, you will learn something from the first Latif if only you persevere.

Learned about gitmo (never knew about really) and went on to read several articles following this podcast. Also like the main story and overall podcast. Listened to it straight on road trip back in August. Thanks!!
