“Participating in a wellness bingo for the month of September a suggestion was made to listen to a new podcast and I chose this show and the episode on a portfolio career. I was a little over halfway in, when she made reference to the age of 50 or 60 as too late. I found this to be very discouraging and ageist. While it is certainly advisable to do things as soon as possible from the age of 30 rather than waiting, her comments or the way she worded it negates anyone who has ever done anything positively later in life. You may be aiming for a different audience, but really need to consider your language. Warren Buffett is always held up as an example of somebody who made his fortune in what would be considered late in life. Apparently people of my age are not welcome here and I’ll have to go elsewhere to get my information. people in their 50s and 60s are not invisible or incapable. Do better.”
