Are they a rugby podcast or a Leinster podcast

Hysterically myopic bordering on ridiculous.

It is good when I need to switch off from work and is easy to follow along with their voices can get irritating though.
Ellbuzz via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 02/29/24
I only came onto this after Off The Ball went behind a paywall. Some good stuff but all the lads are tripping over each other to get their point in, and talking over each other consistently. Unprofessional and irritating.

Lads, just wanted to say that your review of the Irelands World Cup was excellent. Balanced and honest. Loved it. As someone who inhales all podcasts on Rugby….you do a great job every week.

Overall great free Podcast listening for 18 months. Following now. Room to improve for Ireland - Gibson Park charge downs Line out set up and separation Hard to see any other specific areas where Ire did not outplay Sarah Really only one “gimme” kick mixed by SA. Two speculative 50+ mtr kicks,...Read full review »

Why can’t he be on every show? Put the hand in the pocket and make him a regular.

Great podcast great discussions an a nice mix of opinions. But Luke, you were a professional rugby player, please please remember rugby has laws not rules. As an ex ref and player it is a simple thing and it differentiates our spot from others. Still a big fan C-mac

This podcast has come on in leaps and bounds over the last two years. Both individually and and as an ensemble It's now essential listening after any big game or Irish rugby event.Read full review »

Probably more suited to Leinster fans but good chats from Luke and Will.

Career suicide by Franco, Luke by association, with an episode that tarnished the reputation of the show! Perhaps an overreaction but most certainly a costly editing error that is a lesson to all.
richard kunstlittle via Apple Podcasts · Belgium · 09/09/21
The racist comments by Neil Francis are shocking. It’s amazing that the production team should allow such offensive comment to go out unchecked.
Ozimandias via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 07/24/21
Describing half-Filipina Marcus Smith as having an “Oompa Loompa tan” is utterly disgraceful. Shame on him and his bigoted views. Won’t be listening to this again- have found far better, and more varied, rugby podcasts.

One guy that watches no rugby and one racist

Good podcast. Fitzgerald passionate about his rugby. Retired players have to be careful about invoking all the time the phrase ‘when I use to play’ but that’s the point. They have played at the highest level and therefore have an acute feeling about the game. A little biased towards Leinster but...Read full review »

Good pod, I like the way both are not afraid to share their point of view

Used to love this podcast, but Jesus lads to come on and bash CJ Stander after all he has given to the country is a joke. He has done his time! If he wants to go home and be with his family or even play rugby in SA, who are we to question him? He gave so much to the green and red jerseys.

Luke is decent to listen to. Will Slatterys voice and commentary grates on me so I’ve given up. He’s shocking

As an Ulster fan i was a bit nervous subscribing to a Leinster leaning podcast but i was surprised that it’s a really good listen. And unlike other pods it’s not too chummy and over pally but very professional with great analysis 👍🏻

Like union itself dull & boring.

Sorry Luke loved (total legend) you as a player but your Podcasts are not for me

Great Rugby Podcast...here’s to homing they keep it up through the PRO14 season as well!

Great listening to the rugby chat. Much better without Lukie talking about himself
auris sold via Apple Podcasts · Ireland · 09/30/19
Enjoyed this podcast for a short time, good guests and relevant topic discussion. Although the Leinster and friends bias has taken over. If Luke isn’t talking about himself he is complaining about any player not from Leinster, and now complaining about Irish qualified players who weren’t born in...Read full review »

Fitzgerald needs to drop the whole “foreigners coming over her taking our jobs” vibe. Show me on the doll where Jared Payne touched you Luke? The other guests and presenters are great maybe he should let them get a word in
DubhDOA via Apple Podcasts · Ireland · 09/19/19
This could be a great show but for the consistent narrative of “well, when I was playing...” Unfortunately, Luke (and producers) needs to accept the show is/should be about Irish rugby matters and not an opportunity to talk about himself. I have to say that more recently retired national players,...Read full review »

Would be better if they lost the shock jock approach. Constantly interrupting of guests - ruins interviews also.

The previous ones with Fitzgerald are dreadful! The Indo have an excellent rugby journo team, why not use them...Cian and Ruadhri together now put the podcast up with OTB, 42, RTÉ, 2nd Captains etc. Keep this winning team boys....

Luke’s rant about Bundi Ali was disgraceful. Obviously got to Bundi as he mentioned the left wing in a press conference in Japan. Luke is another bully with a voice, blowing his own trumpet at every opportunity.
Roundy-kk via Apple Podcasts · Ireland · 09/16/19
Have listened to since start and ignored the Leinster bias but tired of the sour grapes around Irish selection. We have one of the lowest foreign born selections in the World Cup. Can’t wait til the negative nellies are proven wrong. It’s not Joes job to select on nationality but form and...Read full review »

Luke’s outburst regarding Bundi Aki was nasty and immature. No longer going to listen to this crap! Happy to Unsubscribe!
Bródy via Apple Podcasts · Ireland · 09/12/19
Luke seems to try to hard to be controversial, he is not able to accept rational points made by other hosts. Very frustrating to listen to.
Irelands Call via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/11/19
Brutally biased “commentary” on the international game. Basically a Leinster love in. Used to be at least half decent but gone way downhill
Bad MotherRucker via Apple Podcasts · Ireland · 09/11/19
Generally a good podcast. Guests are great. However long rambling questions from Luke, so long and rambling I’ve forgotten what the original question was as has the interviewee. Great addition having Ruaidhri and Cian contributing. Gives it more structure and more balanced analysis.

So egotistical it is sadistic!! Very Self indulgent intro. Great listen though and Slat is an unsung hero.

Love the personal insight and the easy way in which Will & Luke interact with their guests. They break their focus topics down so that a rugby fan like myself, that isn’t an expert, can understand the analysis. I like how Luke brings his relationships with his guests to life by telling funny...Read full review »

Usually interesting to listen to the guests and Luke does have some good stories and insights from his career. However, Luke does talk over people a bit too much and it’s hard to listen to him having ‘banter’ with former teammates...”are Nugget and Ferg still the same as ever, yeah?”...

It’s a difficult listen due to the obvious Leinster bias. Would probably be more appropriately called the Leinster Left Wing or something rather than an Irish rugby podcast. Munster barely gets a mention, never mind Ulster or Connacht. I understand Leinster are by far the most successful team but...Read full review »

If you like to listen to how every Leinster player trumps the other Irish players, then definitely give this a listen, because they rarely talk about anything other than Leinster, Leinster players or ex Leinster players. Wouldn’t have an issue if it wasn’t advertised an analysis on Irish rugby,...Read full review »

Great access to top relevant guests, but really struggle when Luke doesn’t stop talking and seems to use 100 words when 10 would do! He also seems to answer lots of his own questions. Massive Ireland fan and want to keep listening, but Luke is putting me off. Would be good if he would listen back...Read full review »

The ‘banter’ at the start of each show is painful. I find Will’s accent and attempted humour painful. He’s like the geek in school that’s been giving a free rein on a mic. Luke can be great but I wish he’d cut his questions in half- can be rambling and still interrupts far too often.
LaighinAbú via Apple Podcasts · Ireland · 10/06/18
Too much waffle from Luke makes it pretty unlistenable. Sadly.
Gingerdad via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 06/21/18
Could be so much better. Great guests but Luke is really annoying me. Luke keeps asking long-rambling “questions” that actually consist of three/four individual questions. He also speaks over his interviewees too often. The guest is the star, let them speak!!
I don't like spam via Apple Podcasts · Ireland · 06/20/18
Without the high profile guests I wouldn’t listen to this podcast. Luke Fitzgerald only seems to want talk about his own rugby career and doesn’t make many good points at all .
