In this episode I discuss overcoming the fear of man with the fear of the Lord.

This episode is a look at Psalm 19 and how it helps us gain and maintain the proper fear of the Lord, which, as the Bible says, is the beginning of wisdom.

You see, it’s not even about Christ’s worth TO US. Our appraisal changes nothing concerning His inestimable value. But when we consider the fact and facets of His birth, then we can learn why the least we can do is continually celebrate the great biblical truth of Isaiah 9:6, which says that, “Unto us a Child is born, and unto us a Son is given…”

In this show I will share with you seven great gifts that we who are in Christ get because of Christ that we can only have if… we can prove that we really want them. Somebody once said that if a contract doesn’t have a clause, then it’s probably not worth the paper that it’s printed on. You see, when something that is extremely important is agreed on or exchanged by two parties, there is usually some sort of caveat or clause, which if violated would invalidate the agreement. You’ve probably...

In this episode we cover all three parables in Luke chapter 15. They present to us some very profound truths about how God sees the pridefulness of religiosity and unbelief and how He graciously rewards the humility of repentance and faith.

In this episode we cover the Parable of Leaven, and see why what many people immediately think of when it comes to leaven is problematic. This is the fourth of the seven kingdom parables of Christ in Matthew 13.

In this episode of the series The Parable Paradox, we cover Christ's Parable of the Mustard Seed. This is the third of His kingdom parables, but unlike the first two, Jesus doesn't explain this one. Why? He expects us to use the tools He gave in the first two parables.

This parable is an excellent complement to the Parable of the Sower we talked about last time. Whereas the Sower parable addresses four types of earth or heart, which the seed or the word of God falls on, this parable broadens the scope to give us a sort of birds-eye view of the kingdom of heaven. This is the second of the 7 kingdom parables mentioned in Matthew 13.

This episode looks at the Parable of the Sower and the four kinds of "earth" (or "heart") the seed, which is the word of God falls on.

This is the series introduction episode. Christ’s parables are given to the true believers in Christ to understand. And it is up to us to take what we learn from the parables and so apply it to our lives that we become disciple-making disciples of Jesus Christ. That was God’s original desire for Israel. But by their continual rebellion and unbelief, they judged themselves unworthy of these mysteries for now. But may we never forget that salvation is of the Jew first, then also the Gentile.

2 Corinthians 5:15-16 says, “And [Jesus] died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for Him who died for them and was raised again. Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer.” The apostle Paul approaches what we see in 2 Corinthians 5 on the heels of verse 18 of the previous chapter. After discussing God’s great power in ministry and how he...

2 Timothy 2:19 says, “Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness." Jesus, the God-Man, lived the perfect life, and died the perfect death for the sin of the world. But who does that atoning death actually cover? Is it all of those who confess the name of the Lord? Or is it those whom the Lord knows are His? Or is it both? One thing’s for...

On this two-part episode we will let God define for us what it is to believe and to be saved, and how it shows us that the doctrine of the eternal security of the Believer in Christ is sound. We will do so by examining God’s involvement in our salvation.

Have you ever seen red? No I’m not talking about the color red. I’m talking about being angry. It is believed the term originates with the art of bullfighting and how it seems the read cape of the bullfighter enrages the bull, and causes it to charge. Or have you ever been beside yourself… with anger? People of ancient history believed that under times of great emotional stress, the soul could temporarily leave the body, and exist in close proximity to its host. As silly as it sounds, these...

In His lesson known as the Parable of the Persistent Widow (Luke 18:1-8), Jesus concludes by asking the question, “When the Son of man comes, will he find faith on the earth?” What prompted that rhetorical question? It is clear that Jesus was stressing the problem that He knew many who believed in Him throughout the ages would face—the temptation to stop believing when we don’t get what we ask for when we want it. I believe it was the late R. C. Sproul who said that, “The issue of faith is...

Genesis chapter three is what I like to call the end of the beginning. It is where after God created a beautiful sin-free world and gave it to an innocent humanity, Adam, the father of the human race, ate of the forbidden fruit and caused it all to be plunged into the depths of sin. Without exception we are all fallen products of that fateful choice. Verses 6 through 13 read… 6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to...

You know, the Bible shows us as Believers in Christ that we should be striving for the mastery of our lives, because if we do not, then the world, the flesh, and the Devil more than willingly does the job for us. As old as time itself, sin has always sought to master the human heart. For example Genesis chapter 4 gives the account of Cain and Abel and how God felt about the good sacrifice that Abel brought, and the bad sacrifice that Cain brought. In His mercy, God gave Cain a chance to...

When Jesus gave us the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20, it is clear that it was a mandate for then, for now, and until the end of time as we know it. At least once in each of the three verses Jesus used the word “all,” and in the third verse, He also used the word “always”. Let’s look at it… 18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the...
