Not all guests deliver but Paxman is always worth a listen. Deliberately or not, he shows up Lee Child as smug and entitled. Proof that you don’t have to be a southern Old Etonian to come across as self-satisfied.

This podcast is supposed to be JP having a chat in the pub. It should be a cosy, thought provoking conversation. The Michael Palin episode is like that but the rest (brian cox etc) consist of JP asking questions and his guest getting very angry. A thoroughly absorbing interview - Mr Parr speaks very engagingly about a career that he clearly enjoyed and it was good that he spoke more than Jeremy Paxman.
