Paxman: Rude but very good.
A lot of podcast interviews are sycophantic and Paxman is the opposite; his style is refreshing for that alone. You can hear his personal axes grinding underneath his questions but he is still a much better interviewer than most. He’s less confident on the more abstract subjects and it’s entertaining listening to him ask questions he’s not used to asking like “are you happy?”. Brian Cox is a great interviewer and gives it right back to Paxman.

I think Jeremy Paxman was a brilliant interrogative interviewer in the political arena.
