This is one of my favorite podcasts ever. I looked forward to listening everyday when driving to work, and was sad when it was over.

This ranks right up with the best true crime podcasts. The research is very diligent. The construction of the narrative is excellent. The reporting is high quality and objective with lots of first-hand sources interviewed. The information collected by this project significantly progressed the...Read full review »

I am from NC and have affiliations with the modern inhabitants of Watts Hospital, so I was interested in this story. However, it was a slog to get through all the episodes. The producers’ inability to edit down Tim Horne’s interviews and or to pivot from the frequent melodramatic commentary made...Read full review »

Did any of the 5 star reviewers actually listen to this podcast?! Stripped down, it’s men with on-fire egos using a tragedy for entertainment under the guise of justice. There is no actual evidence against any of the suspects, so if these people are innocent what is being done here is wildly...Read full review »

I appreciate detail but there were way too many rambling interviews with various members of law enforcement. Editing would have helped make these tighter. On top of that, some parts of the interviews were played more than once which was unnecessary. Episodes were too long (see above comment on...Read full review »

This podcast is so haunting. I’ve listened to it more than once. I hope there is justice for the victims someday.

I thought the story was well told by the narrators. The case is riveting and most likely one you’ve never heard before. I’m surprised it does not have a higher rating. Bing worthy listen you wouldn’t want to miss. Don’t pass this one up!

I hadn’t heard of this case before. I liked the way this was presented.

The beginning had more adjectives than necessary in an entire novel. So long winded and the tone and editing is off. I can’t listen but now but with coaching they could do well.
Suppercatscratch747 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 03/19/20
I really wanted to like it, but this podcast needs some serious editing. The hosts are long winded and overly wordy, the sound quality on many of the interviews are bad, and it just DRAGS. It’s like listening to an audiobook of a bad crime novel. I forced myself to listen up until episode 6 but...Read full review »

The story itself is interesting, and it’s well researched. The storytelling and the editing are a little loose in places, but overall I enjoyed the leisurely pace, and especially the unpacking of evidence and suspects. Very engaging. I hope it dislodges something in the case.

Lost interest in episode 4. Bad sound editing or recording, interviews that were long and poor quality so really hard o understand. Not set up in a way where we care at all about the victims, so finding the killer doesn’t feel like that big of a priority. I’m moving on to something else and not...Read full review »

This was an interesting cold case and I really hope that DNA will solve it. The reasons I didn’t rate 5 stars: too long, rambling interviews where people repeated themselves too much. Seems like some of that could have been edited out. Some interviews were impossible to understand, between the...Read full review »

If you enjoy an actual investigative podcast then you’ll love this one! This is not the typical back and forth conversation about one case for an hour each week; this is actually a true investigation. I love cold cases and this case was unknown to me. I’m surprised that more people have not...Read full review »

Overall, this was a great investigative piece about a murder I haven't heard covered on the million other true crime pods I listen to. I think it would have benefitted from a more editing for time and there were a handful of times I felt the hosts needlessly made it about themselves, but...Read full review »

I binged this one. I couldn’t stop listening! It’s a well organized presentation of the investigation of a horrible crime that remains unsolved for nearly 50 years.

it’s an amazing podcast and a fascinating and tragic case but it is very hard to understand the phone call segments. also, on the third episode, maybe around the 40 minute mark, the audio started to speed up to the point where i could no longer understand what was being said. it eventually slowed...Read full review »

This was so interesting and yet sad. I pray that someone comes forward with a piece of information to help solve this crime. One of the saddest stories of two people in love who’s lives were cut short.

The story took a whole rputocstch your attention before it took off. The audio is very unreliable going from too loud to barely distinguishable. Some of the personal stories could have been shortened.

The Long Dance does a great job investigating the murders and suspects involved in this case. Great listen for true crime junkies. Hope to hear more updates about the case in the future.

A compelling true crime story. It's clear from the amount of work the creators have put in that this case is very important to them. I hope their hard work and passion for the cause can give the families of the victims some long-overdue closure.Read full review »

This podcast features solid and dogged reporting and running down of leads. Drew Adamek and Eryk Pruitt were lucky, too, but mostly they just worked very hard.

It’s apropos that “Long” is in title, because it’s a long time before they tell you anything of substance and a long time to get to the point in each episode. I feel like it’s too much build up and not enough substance in 1st 3 episodes. The first episode they kept going back and forth to...Read full review »

I can't believe how much I enjoyed this podcast. Between the law enforcement to the family members, you can't help but wish them the justice they deserve. The sheer volume of know and unknown that is revealed really puts things in perspective. LOVED IT!Read full review »

Excellent podcast! The gentlemen made it very compelling without being insensitive to the subject matter. It was produced and written very thoughtfully. I would strongly recommend this pod to any true crime junkie.

I live in the Triangle, so I feel it is important to support local media and podcasters in the area. I love true crime so this is a good fit. As a native Durhamite, this occurred prior to my birth but I’m familiar with most of the areas discussed. And the narrator reminds me a bit of Merle Haggard narrating the DOH.

This is a rare and special production. I won’t even call it a special podcast because it goes beyond that. It’s as good as any crime documentary. It’s inspiring and infuriating. From the first podcast I was hooked. Mesmerized! July 4th I listened for 6 hours. I found the subject of the podcast fascinating, but I was put off by the thick "aw shucks" commentary. I was blown away by this podcast. It is entertaining to the listener but still kind to the victims. There is honesty and passion both from the police. I’m a big fan of true crime podcasts and this is one of the best I’ve heard in a long time. Exhaustively researched without getting bogged down in details, these episodes fly by. I couldn’t wait to get to the next one and was sorry when it ended.
