So disappointing
I have been with this podcast from the beginning, since the first episode. Because I am also a massive Stephen King fan. The audio was terrible, the editing was terrible, and the episodes were ridiculously long, but I stuck with it because it was clear these guys were new to this, and because there's no other podcast for this type of talk. I wanted to give them a shot. 19 episodes later, I just have to bail. They finally have good recording equipment, and the editing is a hair smoother, but the content of the pod has just regressed episode by episode. It's forgivable to talk about King's books for a long time - a couple hours on The Shining is not unreasonable (although 6 hours on The Stand almost certainly is). But they're barely talking about the content of the stories at this point. Far more time is spent talking about the adaptations, the actors in the adaptations, the other movies those actors have been in, which actors they wish would be in which adaptations, random NBA talk (and I'm an NBA fan!), random music talk, King's tweets (this is actually better than almost anything else they talk about), and often just nonsense. Guys, there is a reason almost every popular podcast is 30-60 minutes. You need to set a time limit, focus the conversations, edit out all the tangents. You're not interesting enough to do weekly 2+ hour podcasts. You're not Marc Maron (at least he has guests!) But honestly, even if they figured all that out, the substance of the conversations on the books themselves is just flimsy. It's like being in a room of sophomore undergrad lit majors - a lot of confidence, faux-intellectualism, shockingly narrow worldviews, and adolescent senses of humor. I just realized at some point, I'm listening to some random dudes, who are clearly not better informed or more interesting or intelligent than most of the people I would have a conversation with in real life, talk for over two hours a week. What am I doing? I hate giving up podcasts, but this is a waste of time, and it's a shame.Read full review »

I love this podcast. I wish I had time to read all the novels again before I listen to a new episode. I don't know how these guys do it. You can tell these guys really love and understand Stephen King.Read full review »

Great, in-depth (multi-hour) discussions. I didn't know I wanted it, until I heard it for the first time.Read full review »

Not sure if this will be read and taken into consideration. I love this podcast!!! I was hoping for some help, however. I am having trouble understanding what is being said by all participants on the show. Through the speakers excitement they may often talk at the same time or rush through...Read full review »
