E4: A Man I Loved Named Kyle
Nico's 4th Episode, "A Man I Loved Named Kyle" was raw, brutally honest and emotionally laden. Without identifying his own sexual identity, he begins the episode by stating that he is attracted to people that love themselves. Was his relationship with Kyle a sexual foray? This lingering question was later debunked when both men express their regret that they never told the other, "I love you." Throughout the flawlessly edited episode, Kyle reflects on their relationship with dignity, clarity and optimism. Meanwhile, Nico's questions reveal a desire to make amends for a breakup he blames on external forces. The episode was deeply engaging and ultimately achieved Nico's goal of continuing a conversation about love, the homosexual experience, and the struggle to love oneself. Five stars, well done!Read full review »
