Exceptional Football Analysis for Monday morning, or any day of the week
The MMQB 10 Things podcast with Andy Benoit and Gary Gramling is the very first podcast I listen to every morning during the NFL season. Recorded as soon as the games end on Sunday, it's available for download as soon as I wake up - there's no better way to start my morning than with a large mug of coffee and some smart football discussion, courtesy of Andy and Gary. Both hosts are both experienced and talented football writers for Peter King's MMQB - they are old pros at watching games critically and experts in breaking down film. As such, they catch a lot of things that most football fans might miss, especially when watching the broadcast feed. This analysis is grounded in detailed breakdowns of schemes, strategic concepts, and player tendencies - you will find none of the trite analysis that plagues post-game studio shows here. I always learn something while listening to these two talk football. The quick-hitting format of the show allows Gary and Andy tackle all of the major results and stories from around the league in around an hour, and their remarkable efficiency ensure that each topic gets covered in depth without shortchanging anything. The hosts have an excellent rapport as well - their good-naturedly needling of one another keeps the conversation sharp, but never distracts from the analysis. In particular, their vaunted "Special Teams Player of the Week" award always makes me laugh. Recently, the 10 Things podcast expanded to include a Thursday preview show looking forward to the weekend's biggest games, which I will be looking forward to every bit as much as the regular Monday show. I hope that the expansion will allow Gary and Andy's audience and profile to continue to grow. As someone who listens to a number of football podcasts, I don't think that they get much better than this.Read full review »

Love this podcast, especially because they pump it out Sunday night! I predict the No.1 Thing will be the Packers-Falcons shootout. @Vishal620

Nice work. Most sports shows with two guys talking devolve into insipid buddy chatting. This is not the case with MMQB Good, concise analysis and backstories. I like guys that watch film for me.
