Women’s Health: A Holistic Approach to Pelvic Health Physical Therapy with Dr. Grace Abruzzo
Listen now
Description
If you've ever given birth, experienced infertility, endometriosis, postpartum pelvic health conditions like diastasis recti, prolapse, incontinence, bowel trouble, or generally just have a pelvis, today's episode is for you. I'm joined by Dr. Grace Abruzzo, DPT, who shares her holistic approach to this very Western modality of Physical Therapy. Dr. Grace is a trauma-informed Doctor of Physical Therapy who believes the mind, body and spirit are connected. We hold our traumas within our tissues, and she helps her patients connect to and release those traumas. Among the conditions mentioned above, Dr. Grace gives her opinion on episiotomies, as well as on the least optimal birthing position for a birthing person (spoiler alert: it happens to be the most commonly recommended position). This episode is like a warm hug that is simultaneously packed with pertinent advice to anyone with a pelvis!
