A Guide to Navigating Divorce & Single Parenting with Marriage & Family Therapist, Sarah Klinger

Description
Parenting is undoubtedly one of the hardest transitions a person can go through in their life. Rewarding, yes. But also ultimately very challenging emotionally, spiritually and physically. Add in marriage to the mix and you've got a recipe for many things that could potentially go wrong. And often, they do. The divorce rate in the US alone is between 40 and 50% each year. You may be among that percentage. And there is no shame in that. But if you and your ex-partner have a child or children together, it becomes paramount to equip yourself with the tools to navigate your divorce in a healthy way so as to support the emotional needs of not just yourself, but also of your children. Because they are watching and learning, and every step you can take to help them navigate their emotions around their parents splitting up can only serve to help them grow up to be resilient and emotionally well-adjusted people. I'm joined today by Sarah Klinger, a divorced mother of two who has worked in early childhood development for over a decade. She is currently the director of a preschool and is working toward her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology with a child studies specialization. Outside of her role as a preschool director, she has a private practice in marriage and family therapy as a psychological associate. Sarah Klinger Today's episode is a rare gem with insight into Sarah's own divorce and process, given through the lens of someone schooled in clinical psychology. This episode is like a play book for single and divorced parents that will truly help you through your journey. For full show notes, visit www.themomfeed.com
