Description
Hey mama, are you tired? Yes, yes. I know you're probably physically tired. But I'm talking emotionally tired. Emotionally tired of holding space for everyone else's feelings but not having enough time or space to process your own. Feeling mom guilt in a major way because you have this idea of what the ideal mother is supposed to look like and you don't always fit the bill. Why? Because somehow when you became a mother, you were still you. Not someone's mother. Just...uniquely you, with all the same passions and needs and wants. But then all of a sudden you had to push your needs aside and focus on your child or children. And not only was that not frowned upon, it was actually encouraged. By everyone around you. And it was reinforced by the culture in which you live. So many of us mamas have lost our way. We feel like we've lost that connection with ourselves, we don't know how to tap into our intuition, we don't really know what we want and many of us don't really know who we are outside of being someone's mother. And we're spiritually exhausted. On today's show, I'm joined by life coach and mama of 3, Katerina Barron, to discuss all of this. Mom guilt. Shame. How to tap into our intuition. How to break free of the identity of "mom" and just be us. How to properly manage our stress - even in the moment when we cannot go away and do the thing we need to do in order to feel human again because we literally cannot leave our children. We discuss our addiction to busyness and how we connect our worthiness to how much we got done in a day. You'll walk away from this episode with a renewed sense of strength and hope, and a set of tools to help you reparent yourself so that you can free yourself from the cultural norms about motherhood that feel so heavy and oppressive.
