Solid discussions, but mostly fluff
Mario is a great conversationalist and can attract fascinating guests. However, most of the time the questions do not lead to interesting insights. For example, people will complain about the state of track and field but are never pressed to actually discuss solutions. Or people will complain about doping in the sport but not asked how to balance that with mechanical doping and access to a higher quality life in the Western world. Listen to the show for entertainment, but not for insights. Mario also treats his friends with kid gloves. Just recently had a doper on his show and let her off the hook. He wouldn’t do that to others. And he definitely wouldn’t do it if she was a person of color.
