Love the website, the articles, the content—my only issue with this podcast is the audio quality. I’ve tried adjusting my car speakers, I’ve played out loud on my phone, used my best headphones and my jbl earbuds and it’s the same issues. For those who aren’t tortured with acute hearing like me,...Read full review »

I started listening to them in 2020 and check up with new episodes every few weeks - currently working on a new novel and I really feel, that I know better how to check for plot holes, character karma and logical (thought through) character decisions. I can especially recommend everything about...Read full review »

Big, holistic gulp - come sit down and listen, because I promise you, no matter how disillusioned you are we can take it a step further. Who doesn’t want more people in their lives to take them for a ride? To point at every pothole and then drive right over them yelling, “Told you!!!” Come! Hop...Read full review »

Useful insights and fun to listen to!

The episode on appropriation and exploitation is utter garbage. 3 mumbling white dorks whine about cultural appropriation as if they have any understanding or experience. The whole episode is them discussing random and often contradictory and nonsensical rules they just came up with about how to...Read full review »

This podcast is on my “listen to first” as soon as it comes out. I would also point you to their blog for more great content.

I seem to find 2-3 great nuggets of knowledge from every episode, but find myself zoning out often as I listen to the constant complaining about how various authors construct their art. I’ve yet to listen to an episode where at least half of the episode wasn’t them nitpicking whatever their topic...Read full review »

Fun, thoughtful, too short.

Great writing and storytelling advice that incorporates an awareness of oppression in an entertaining (and often really funny) three person conversation. They make it fun by giving examples which they describe in enough detail that you don't need to know the particular piece of media that...Read full review »

Passable-to-good discussions featuring both descriptive and prescriptive writing advice. They have a blog, but this podcast is the most valuable thing they offer. They do have a bent toward intersectionality and identity politics, and bring it up often enough to be irritating. But these moments...Read full review »

I’ve only listened to half of one podcast (literary criticism), but I really feel in tune with them. Seriously resonated with me...I was basically blown away!! Great dynamic between them (although perhaps I could add another great voice there maybe(??)) I will be listening to all of them. They...Read full review »

I have to take a point off due to the rotating hosts. Some shows can be very interesting and fun, while giving useful info. Some shows can be pretty dry or not say much. You never know. And some hosts say “like” between every other word. Please stop.

As a new fantasy author, I was thrilled and astounded to discover the Mythcreants web site and podcast. I'm not much of a gamer, so I skip those parts, but their storytelling advice is helpful, and the podcasts are fun to listen to. The hosts are funny, smart, and well-read, so their...Read full review »
